Nourishing Herbal Recipes

This past Saturday, I was in my Sabbath rest. As I was communicating with my ancestors, they immediately told me to go to my herbs and make a few blends.

It was magical and it made me so happy. I missed putting my hands in herbs.

I made five whole blends that filled 6 mason jars, which came straight from the ancestors themselves. My ego didn’t want me to share it because someone could steal my recipes, but let’s be real. 1. Although it will irritate TF out of me, if someone tries to make and sell these recipes, it doesn’t matter because no one is me and no one has my specific essence and energy. 2. I am not going to be selling tea blends any time soon.

I still wanted to share the herbal medicine so below, you will find the herbs in the blends that I made. I do not have exact measurements because I trust my inner knowing on how much of what to put. Please feel free to use the recipes for your own personal use to heal yourself.

The way that I prepare my tea is to either:

  1. Fill a pot of water and add my desired amount of herbs to the pot. I cover the pot, bring the water to a boil and then turn the heat down to low so the herbs can simmer for about 15-20 minutes. Then I strain the herbs, add honey to my preferred level of sweetness and drink.

  2. Put herbs in a biodegradable tea bag and for boiling water over the herbs. Cover the cup (I have a tumbler) and let the herbs sit for about 30-45 minutes. Then I add my desired amount of honey and drink.

These ways allow for the tannins and other healing properties of the herbs/bark/flowers to be extracted into the water. Keeping the herbs covered wither in the pot or external container allows the healing properties to stay in the container.

You can also make bulk batches by filling a mason jar 1/4 of the way, pouring pouring boiling water over the herbs, covering it and letting it sit on the counter for 4-24 hours. Strain the herbs and return the tea to the jar. This can be stored for up to 5 days.

This process tends to pull a lot of the tannins, astringents, and bitterness out of the herbs hence why I sweeten it a bit, but you don’t have to add any sweetener if you don’t want to!
