breathwork

What is breathwork?

Embarking on the journey of conscious breathwork is like gently unlocking the treasures hidden within ourselves. It's a purposeful dance with your breath, a powerful practice that delicately invites emotions, feelings, and memories to rise to the surface, allowing the release of what has long been held within our bodies.

In embracing breathwork, we discover a therapeutic symphony where the art of bodywork and energy work beautifully converge. It becomes a sanctuary for deep exploration, a path to unearth suppressed traumas and liberate stagnant energy. This practice is an invitation to breathe deeply, inviting us to feel deeply, nurturing both the subtle nuances and the physical aspects of our being.

As we engage in breathwork, we play with the ebb and flow of the sympathetic nervous system, triggering the fight, flight, and arousal responses. Simultaneously as we pendulate, we activate the parasympathetic nervous system, invoking the freeze, rest, and digest responses. In this mindful dance, we give ourselves the grace and the space to complete the entire stress response cycle.

Breathwork is not a passive endeavor; it's a journey that requires active participation. The intentional rhythms of breathing, especially through the mouth, act as a gentle force, moving through the layers and releasing what is stuck beneath the surface. This orchestrated breath unveils and unearths a physiological response—which may manifest as the physical body gracefully moving, contracting, or expanding, as it surrenders to the transformative magic of breathwork.

The different breathing patterns will be demonstrated before we begin and time will be reserved towards the end to hold space for sharing and active listening.
